Germantown, Maryland, August 9, 2011 Network Specialty Group, Inc. (NSGI) enters into a subcontract agreement with International Business Machines (IBM) as a result of the USDA Forest Service Advanced Technology Systems and Engineering Support (ATSES) contract award.  NSGI will provide support services on the ATSES project as a subcontractor to IBM, who will serve in the capacity as the prime contractor for this project.  The project requires support for the Forest Service to assist the MEO by providing consulting services.  The MEO was awarded the IT Infrastructure Competitive Sourcing Study and is in charge of performing the requirements of that study.  IBM and NSGI were tasked to assist the MEO with identifying overall roles and responsibilities, change processes, and how to most efficiently exploit the benefits of contractor support across the Forest Service IT environment of around 33,000 PCs, 5,000 laptops, and handhelds supported by over 1,800 AIX, Linux, and Windows servers.  The contract requires support in three Forest Service internal organizations: Architecture and Engineering (A&E), Project Management Office (PMO), and Integration Testing Lab (ITL).

This award was issued as a firm fixed price contract with a period of performance of four, six month option periods through July 2013.
