Gaithersburg, MD, 26th May, 2017 – Network Specialty Group, Inc (NSG) is pleased to announce that it has recently been re-certified as a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO) for performance of security assessments for cloud service providers (CSP) seeking FedRAMP Provisional Authorization.
Since 1994, NSG has provided value-oriented IT services and solutions to its customers in the areas of Cyber Security, Application Development, and IT Operations and Maintenance. NSG is rated at Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI®) Level 3 – DEV by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and is an SRI Registered ISO 27001:2013, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 20000-1:2011 certified company. NSG is also an A2LA Accredited Inspection body in accordance with ISO 17020:2012.
FedRAMP is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services providers. CSPs must implement the FedRAMP security requirements on their environment and hire a FedRAMP approved third party assessment organization (3PAO) to perform an independent assessment to audit the cloud system and provide a security assessment package for review. NSG joins a small, elite group of companies that are FedRAMP 3PAO accredited. FedRAMP seeks to accelerate the adoption of secure cloud solutions through reuse of assessments and authorizations, increase confidence in security of cloud solutions, achieve consistent security authorizations using a baseline set of agreed upon standards to be used for Cloud product approval in or outside of FedRAMP, and increase confidence in security assessments.
“It is a great honor and privilege to be accredited by the General Services Administration (GSA) as a 3PAO. Security is a critical element of the world we live in and operate. To have met the requirements for accreditation as a 3PAO makes us very proud and eager to perform the critical tasks of an independent assessment company”, said Prasen Vasavada, NSG President and CEO in a recent interview.
